Art & Museum Magazine Features An African Canvas

Exploring the colour filled world of South African Artist, Peter Pharoah.

The autumn issue of Art & Museum Magazine launched this month and within its covers is an exciting and diverse look at current trends in the global art industry.

Articles include insights by Barbara Guggenheim on the importance of consulting an art advisor when buying for investment, other topics cover issues such as educating collectors and getting to grips with the significance of provenance, as well as an article entitled ‘An African Canvas, exploring the colour filled world of South African Artist, Peter Pharoah.’ The magazine also shines the spotlight on the rise of commoditisation by a new generation of tech-entrepreneurs who are eager to revolutionise the art market.

“Collecting art has long been fashionable, but knowing what is on the up, soon to be more fashionable and therefore a sound investment, is an art form in itself,” says Tom Flynn and Angelina Giovani of Flynn & Giovani Art Provenance Research who take a look at the Art Nouveau movement within the realm of investment.

Betsy Bickar, Art advisor for Citi Private Bank’s Art Advisory & Finance group discusses the strategy involved in collecting art with passion while there is an opportunity to join the conversation on the street art - love it or hate it, you just can’t ignore it.

Paging through the magazine is a captivating journey providing interesting revelations about the business of art and Peter is honoured to be the first South African artist featured in this prestigious publication. In the article, An African Canvas, the focus is on Peter's approach to his work, his inspiration and his passion for his subject, Africa. For Peter the magic only happens when he is pushing the boundaries, facing the challenge of coming up with something fresh and new with each artwork. Read more about his artistic process in the autumn issue.

Art & Museum is a supplement for Family Office Magazine, the only publication in the world dedicated to the Family Office space with a readership of over 46,000 of ultra-high nett worth individuals and their advisors. Many have a keen interest in the arts, some are connoisseurs and others are investors or collectors.
